We are against it, we say it to ourselves, we repeat it to ourselves. We talk about it, we get carried away, we get upset, we protest: we cannot let it happen. We scrutinize the future. We say to ourselves, so? We are still here, we want the debate, we say it again, we refuse to settle into waiting. We say to ourselves, what! We talk, we discourse, we are indignant, we protest. We say to ourselves, so, what: we are writers, we are going to write… … a message: “So, what do we do??” This is the beginning of the Correspondances.
Born from an initiative launched by two authors, Nicole Caligaris and Éric Pessan, in the fall of 2007, in reaction to the immigration policy practiced in France, this collection presents thirteen literary correspondences between authors from diverse backgrounds and origins.
