At the forefront of the jazz scene in the 70s with Cesarius Alvim who played the double bass at the time, pianist Jean-Pierre Mas then devoted most of his time to writing music for films and TV films. Nevertheless, he subtly and discreetly unraveled the skein of a beautiful career, always accompanying himself with musicians of the heart (Aldo Romano, Henri Texier, Toots Thielemans, etc.). And as Aldo Romano writes so well, Jean-Pierre Mas in this new album delivers his intimacy through the music he composes and plays with his musician friends to whom he is absolutely loyal, while remaining open to other influences.
