Industrial history has experienced a context of neoliberal boom in recent decades. It gives large international companies a decisive place within society that decides on products, incomes, cultures, lifestyles, knowledge, and even the rules of the global game.

These companies have not yet really imposed voluntary liability rules on themselves, taking advantage of the absence of international frameworks and poorly applied national legal frameworks.
