Jazz And Rock'n Roll In France 1953-1958 Mustache
Jazz drummer and singer François-Alexandre Galepidès, known as Moustache, owes his nickname to his magnificent bacchantes who popularized his good-natured figure with the general public. From the clubs of Saint-Germain des Prés where he performed with Claude Luter or Sydney Bechet, to the schoolboy rock diversions in the mid-1950s, no jazz musician has ever had such a contrasting career: between traditional jazz and funny diversions. This retrospective by Jean-Baptiste Mersiol succeeds in highlighting the character's jazz testament and his humanity.
